La mayoría sabréis que el fundador de Seiko comenzó su proeza muy joven, con veintipocos añitos, de la misma forma que Cuervo y Sobrinos en Cuba, como importador de relojes.

El despertador de la siguiente foto es importante. Al parecer tuvo mucho éxito fuera de Japón por el tipo de material con que estaba hecho, supongo que algún tipo de latón. Soportaba muy bien los viajes en barco en cuanto a óxido y envejecimiento.

Se podría decir que es el primer éxito internacional de la marca, aunque la maquinaria fuera un calco de las occidentales.

Otro importante. Se ponía automáticamente en hora a través de una emisora de radio. Funcionaba con un enchufe y no era de cuarzo. Se diseñó para las estaciones de tren.
Una cosa que aprendí fue la importancia del ferrocarril en la evolución de la relojería, obligando a mejorar la exactitud para cumplir horarios.
